I feel both Huxley and Orwell were right. Perhaps not in obvious ways with Orwell though.
I have to agree, Orwell’s version of what will come to pass does happen. It strikes me as being terribly unlikely that anyone in control would not use both the media and the truncheon to keep people in line.
After all, we already do ban books, filter the internet, and keep each other in line through fear of punishment. Just look at what happens if you question the current educational, political, and economic systems.
